No, this ceremony will not be legally recognised in England and Wales. www.gov.uk/marriages-civil-partnerships The cost for a legally binding ceremony starts at approximately £137 but may vary depending on the local authority and specific arrangements. It’s recommended to contact your local register office for accurate and up-to-date information. To have your marriage legally recognised in England and Wales, a legally binding ceremony, commonly referred to as a registration of marriage, is required. This typically takes place at a Register Office and applies to Civil Partnership registrations as well. The registration ceremony can be brief and straightforward, with no requirement for exchanging rings, vows, or any other formal rituals unless desired. Once this legal registration is complete, you are free to plan your celebrant ceremony however and wherever you wish, there are no restrictions. Currently, the costs include £35 per person for the notice of marriage and approximately £49 for room hire at the Register Office. Including the marriage schedule, the total cost for a legal marriage can be under £130.

A typical ceremony lasts 20–30 minutes, but it can be shorter or longer depending on your preferences.

Absolutely. I can incorporate religious readings, hymns, or prayers if desired, or focus on a non-religious celebration of life.
